TRAILER REFURB

SANTA’S SLEIGH 2020

Here is the final report on the refurbishment of our Trailer Conservatory which was completed over a 6 week period ready for action on Santas Sleigh tour which commenced on Monday 14th December.  I am pleased to say that we have come in under budget

The refurbishment took place at Alan Dommett (Tormohun Immediate Past President) premises in Marldon.

Here are a few pictures to give you an idea what we came up against and the finished result of the refurb teams’ labours.

Sadly although it went reasonably well, the largest sheet of Checker Plate was 90mm short. The packaging and invoices had the correct dimensions (1900mm x 990mm x 3mm shown). But the actual plate was cut short. Many apologies later the company (Based in Essex) sent a new sheet. For information the checker plate is riveted to the trailer frame on a bed of mastic to ensure that we avoid direct contact between the two metals (Iron/Aluminium).

So, there you have it I hope that you will agree with me that we have managed to give our Trailer a new lease of life and with care should last us another 10 or so years.
