11th May 2020

Despite the lockdown the Rotary Club of Brixham is still supporting the Brixham community.

The Rotary Club of Brixham, despite the lockdown, has continued to have its meeting courtesy of the software application called Zoom and has been able to support many projects across the Brixham Community.

The South Devon Scrubs Angels received a donation from the club enabling to produce 52 sets of scrubs for Torbay Hospital as well as a supply to Douglas House, the Cheshire Home in Brixham.

Jenny Smith from South Devon Scrubs Angels said “We would like to thank the Rotary Club of Brixham for their support at this difficult time and their contribution has enabled us to increase the number of garments we are providing to the A&E department of Torbay Hospital and elsewhere.

Brixham Rotary President, Sir Jeremy Hanley, said “Although at present meetings of our Rotary Club may be virtual we are still able to contribute to the community in a material way and we are totally supportive of these wonderful Angels who have put their efforts into supporting our NHS in this positive way.

He continued “I would like to thank Rotarian David Sharpe for facilitating this contribution to the club and we will continue to fund raise to the best of our abilities to support other such worthwhile projects locally.
