BRIXHAM ROTARY MAKE A SPLASH AT THE ADMIRAL SWIMMING CLUB

The Rotary Club of Brixham have continued their history as supporters of the Admiral Swimming Club by presenting a cheque representing a matched grant from the Rotary Foundation to Mike Seffert of the club to help with replacing the lighting in the pool to something more environmentally friendly.

Rotary Brixham President, Chris Bryson, said “Our club is delighted to help out the swimming club in this manner and the additional support from Rotary Foundation has helped greatly in subsidising the total cost of the replacement lighting.”

He continued, “Brixham Rotary has been involved with the club since its founding days in the 1950s and we will continue to support the swimming club when we can.”

Mike Seffert said “The Admiral Swimming Club is extremely grateful for the donation towards the replacement of a more efficient lighting system, as a charity we have a finite income and with energy bills due to rise by a substantial amount from April it is important that we reduce our energy consumption and a more efficient LED light system will go a long way to do this.”

He continued, “Our Club is well used in the community with a full age range from mothers and babies to senior citizens, being a town with such a close association to the sea the ability to swim is so important and we will continue to support the community in this way.”
